This award is presented in recognition of continued support of PA SIDS and the families it serves.
UPMC - South Side Founded in 1889 as South Side Hospital, UPMC South Side has served the South Pittsburgh area for well over a century. A comprehensive, community-oriented health care provider, UPMC South Side offers a highly qualified staff and provides inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. As a part of the UPMC Health System, the hospital is a gateway to an academic medical system which features medical research and education as well as world-class, cutting edge health care. Since 1983 UPMC South Side has been the home of the PA SIDS Alliance. Thanks to the foresight of then South Side Hospital Administrator and SIDS board member, R. Timothy (Tim) Stack, and the continued generosity of UPMC South Side, we have been given office space and meeting rooms, including free utilities and janitorial service. UPMC South Side has served generations of Pittsburgh residents. We are proud to number ourselves among those served by them. We honor them for making us a part of their close-knit family. UPMC South Side is represented on our board by Beverly Haines, Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services, they support our Tribute to Secretaries and Kayla’s Run fundraisers, they buy our Entertainment Books, they wrap gifts at our Christmas Gift Wrap Booths and lend their volunteers who give us clerical help. When we need them, they are there! We hope to be a part of the UPMC South Side family for generations to come.
